Tammi doing Stevie

I love Stevie Wonder's song All I Do from his album Hotter Than July. To my amazement I got to know that Tammi Terrell recorded the song as early as 1966. Her version is really good as well. Take a listen for yourself...

Time for a classic

This song is a true classic. It isn't like most disco stompers, in the general sense of the word disco, but never the less a true disco classic or should I say a hip hop classic. At the same time as disco was at its peak, hip hop started growing in the black neighbourhoods like Bronx in New York. Legends like Kool DJ Herc and Grandmaster Flash used to play all different kind of music. This was back in the days when hip hop didn't even have a name, so there wasn't any hip hop records to play so they played everything that they thought had cool beats and breaks. They played stuff like Led Zeppelin, Queen, Rolling Stones, Kraftwerk, B-52's etc. You get the point.. It was pretty wild and crazy. Babe Ruth was a symphonic rock band you might say. Their album First Base has become a rare classic because of the track The Mexican which got played a lot at the block parties back then.

I love this song. I hope you do as well. Enjoy!
