Here is a documentary that everyone should see. Sadly enough we don't see this on tv so we have to go and search the nets to find out what is really going on. No matter where you stand or if you just feel that you don't care, please see this documentary!
Here's some nice soft sunday songs for ya'll. A little afro funk from Segun Bucknor, a little senegalese salsa from Africando and some smooth french vibes from Noir Désir with Manu Chao on guitar. Have a beautiful sunday!
Segun Bucknor - La La La /zshare from the compilation Poor Man No Get Brother: Assembly & Revolution 1969-1975 (Strut, 2002)
Africando - Doloy M'Bolo /zshare from the compilation Afro Cuban Grooves, Vol 2 (Musicrama, 1997)
I first found this lovely piece last year on the American Athlete blog and now since I have my own copy of it I'd like to share with you who haven't heard it yet.
It's time to dig in my record collection again to give you a nice one this sunday afternoon. A band I used to listen to alot during the 90's was Stereolab. I loved their experimantal electronic monotonic sound and Laetitia Sadier's hypnotic voice. This is one of my favourites.
This is really a smooth slomo tune which in its original tempo is really nice, but I like it better pitched up (+8) to the max. Take a listen for yourself. A true Giorgio Moroder classic gets even better. (If you've smoked alot of weed today you'd probably like the original slomo version better).
My favourite rapper has like most rap artists tons of sampled songs to choose from so it was hard to choose but finally it came down to these goldies. 6 songs sampled by Common, enjoy!
